Meng Yousef’s wife and children. In her letter, the judge wrote that “it is your business of your own,” but added that she knew the father was a murderer. Her mother was already in trouble for her repeated infractions on her parole, the letter said. Meng’s letter also states she has a brother, a cousin and an uncle who had knowledge of the crimes. She wrote that “they both died and a family member was murdered and there are many more families that have nothing, not even names; who were their only contact, their only source of information, who were to blame for the killings.”

Chen Zhiqiang’s son was also convicted for the murder of Meng’s cousin, however, because he was a minor at the time of the crime. The judge’s decision is not yet finalized.
